First-Ever Micro-Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
Saint Francis Memorial Hospital patient Autumn Alvarez needed a hysterectomy in her late 40s to stop the threat of cervical cancer. But she didn't want the surgery to interfere with her busy job and yoga practice. She found Dr. Mona Orady at Saint Francis, who performed the surgery as a micro-laparoscopy with only 3 mm incisions. Autumn was able to get back to her life only 3 days after surgery. This is the first time a hysterectomy has ever been completed in this way.
