Dr. Rosa A. Mo is currently Chair of the Division of Health Professions at the University of New Haven, West Haven, CT. A graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University, she completed her dietetic internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital which is affiliated with the Yale University School of Medicine.
A registered dietitian with diverse experience, her work has included a number of teaching positions across the US. Her private practice concentrated on nutrition consulting to clients in Hong Kong, several Fortune 500 companies, community health programs, and medical oncology centers. She coordinated a $500,000 USDA grant for the Connecticut Department of Public Health and was named Connecticut Dietitian of the Year. Her nutrition initiatives in the wellness programs for corporations were recognized with the C. Everett Koop Award two years in a row for excellence in health promotion and innovation in healthcare which were awarded in the White House.
She has also co-authored a number of books and publications, including the Filipino chapter in the book Cultural Food Practices published by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She was past President of the Connecticut Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her passion within Nutrition and Dietetics is in world food culture, clinical dietetics, and nutritional genomics. Every year she leads Study Abroad trips where her students immerse themselves in the food and culture of the country. They have traveled to Spain, France, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Ireland, England, and Cuba. She and her husband speak eight languages and dialects.
